Just a quick lowdown on the Summer Palace (颐和园）~ it's this really extravagant palace that Qianlong built for his mum, for no reason.. and coz it's so lavish, he was worried that the people would make noise, he legitimised the garden by dedicating it to her on her birthday :p it's really huge, so many courtyards and each has a diff architecture... with diff types of flora and fauna at every turn, and a really huge lake in the middle. and this is only for a summer retreat!! goodness...

Going to Tianjin this weekend and Gracie dear's coming next week.. really excited!! Yipee!
