Had this town hall meeting with some Reuters big shots from London yesterday- the Development team in charge of this whole Beijing project. Don really like them, cocky guys, old men to be accurate heh. (Fire me!!) Made me appreciate the few pastors from UK I’ve heard from so so much more- like David Jackman, Christopher Ash, Vaughan Roberts… Same land, strikingly different demeanor, and the difference can only be due to Christ in them.

Feeling the effects of the control the Chinese government has over the internet and the media… Cant even log on to blog sites from my apartment… man… can only do it via the reuters network in office. Gee… Guess they’re really coming down hard on bloggers huh. And you just wont believe the papers and what they write.. And you think singapore's bad :p

Searching for how i can serve him where i am- other than building relationships with my colleagues (which can amount to nothing if i'm not bold enough to share the Gospel) and praying...
But of course all in all remembering obedience is more important than sacrifice and the direction of my heart more important than my actions.. it's really a challenge and test of faith i guess.. with no Christian community you can tangibly show you're Christian.. know what i mean?

Sharing some gems from Let your life speak (Parker J. Palmer)...

The gift we receive on the inner journey is the knowledge that death finally comes to everything- and yet death does not have the final word. By allowing something to die when its time is due, we create the conditions under which new life can emerge.
~
How the community offers help for inner work in a person is a critical question. We are surrounded by communities based on the practice of “setting each other straight”- an ultimately totalitarian practice bound to drive the shy soul into hiding. There can be other forms of corporate discernment and support. The communal process must be supportive and not invasive.

The key to this form of community involves holding a paradox- the paradox of having relationships in which we protect each other’s aloneness. We must come together in ways that respect the solitude of the soul, that avoid the unconscious violence we do when we try to save each other, that evoke our capacity to hold another life without dishonoring its mystery, never tying to coerce the other into meeting our own needs.

Seriously, you shouldn't make comments on your employers on your blog. All big MNCs have monitoring groups, in check of their reputations. What more a media company. Be careful!
