Beijing in Fall

I love the streets of Beijing in fall. No the leaves have not turned red and are not all falling yet- though I’m sure by that time I’ll be one mad lark, and no the weather aint at its best albeit the more frequent blue skies... What's making me fall in love with my "first full autumn experience" already?

Bountiful fruit carts with the last harvests of peaches, plums and grapes,
Caramelized fragrance of roasted chestnuts,
Dried fruit cakes made by the 少数民族,
Sweet sweet aroma of the sweet sweet potato…

Even though my bravado to take an unfamiliar bus route yesterday landed me with an unforgettable trip all right, there are still plenty of reasons to smile myself silly as I walk down the streets of this city…
