Signing off from TR

This is an important day... After 7 years in Thomson Reuters, this chapter of my life is closed. It has been such an incredible journey- yet another masterpiece of His.

Getting to know the name "Reuters" since I was 10 when my Primary school English teacher made us do newpaper clip reviews. It stuck with me ever since, having affections towards what the brand stands for- journalism and integrity. At a Bible Study in Upper Bukit Timah road, I got to learn that a sister Janice was working there. She told me about the Christian community there, and the good working hours- being in audit then, I wished I was working there. And a year later, I saw their ad to hire, and there was just this feeling that God is making our paths cross for a reason. And indeed, He did.

Needless to say, even though I "stayed within the same chapter" professionally- TR witnessed the turning of my many life chapters. My first relationship, my heartbreak, my Beijing adventure, being united with my soul mate, getting married, moving to Chicago. TR brought along many unique experiences- working with "a church-mate" (guess who?), lunch time workouts, participating in setting up of a new site, international work culture, all the travelling and the list goes on.. God has weaved such a beautiful journey, using TR to give me time for family, ministry and friends in Singapore, bringing me to Beijing and Chicago, and through it all provided for my family. Thank you Lord!

And from a work perspective, God has also blessed me so richly through my working experience there. Such wonderful colleagues and bosses- many of whom I now call friends; opportunities to learn and grow- albeit that's through rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands dirty; and minimal politicking such that I need not waste my energies with games and can just focus on being a diligent testimony for Him. Looking back at some rough batches, late hours and trying times- thank you Lord for leading me through!
Cross my heart, I dare say that the days when I love my work outnumbers days when I dread it by much... "A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil, This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment" (Ecc 2:24-25) Thank you Lord!

I love Thomson Reuters, I really do.. It will always have a special place in my life and my heart.. Thank you Lord!
