You ask, “where is God when it hurts?
Where is the church when it hurts?”
You think the church has failed you and
treated you wrong.
You think they have fulfilled your worst
expectations of them.
You wonder about the depth of
relationships you had.
You don’t feel like repenting any more.
You will not be like them, “not like
this!” you cry.
You deserve different, “not this!” for
grace you demand.
Do you believe you are getting what you
deserve?
Were some relationships an idol?
Were they built on food and the faces you
offered?
Did you crave more their intimacy and
approval than His?
Are you indicting those who can be seen
because He can’t?
Are those who are still around to be
treated as naught?
Do you know what grace is? Unmerited
mercy.
You blame Him for not stopping you.
Did you dig out your eye? Or chop off
your hand?
Did you let others in and confess?
Did you take the ropes He sent many a
time?
You think David kept his life intact?
One son died and another tried to take
his life
Hiding in caves and being on the run. Luxury?
Not .
You’re not a broken wolf, but do you see
the signs?
You have the “true insights” and outtalk
your critics
You are the victim, the puppet
He controls the strings.
What is it to you how they respond?
What is it to you what the other wolves
might be like?
What is it to you that their lives might
seem to shine.
The son is willing to return to be the
slave
He who disowned the Lord fed His sheep
The thief who plead for mercy and Jesus’
memory
Not the betrayer done in by the rope
Not the false king fighting to sit on the
throne
Read Psalm 51
I pray that David’s repentance song and
salvation be yours some day
