The cross i carry...

i am writing to bid goodbye to the cross that i carried. Hopefully, this is not blaspheme.

the cross around my neck
the cross that i had since my teens
the cross that travelled the oceans with me
the cross that resided amongst the corporate trees.

the cross shone when i could not speak of Christ
the cross told of an alternative reality
the cross beckoned me to die
the cross reminded me to truly live.

the cross, a gift from my mother
the cross, i gladly carried
the cross, i'd have passed on to mya
the cross, i now say a painful goodbye.

i know not where you are
i am sorry i lost you
will heaven be a place where the lost is found?
i hope we meet again. i miss you.

do i cherish the rugged Cross as much as my "glitzy" one?
will the invisible Cross still be my reality?
shall i be this aware and sad when my Cross is slipping away?
or may i be thankful that the Cross shall forever be mine?
