I prayed for love and perseverance
You showed me how little I have
I thought I had and knew how to
Alas, there’s so much more to learn.
Take away the Pharisaical judgments
Break those scales that seek to weigh
Remove my grudges and complaints
I’m tired of playing games.
Shatter my stained-glass faith
Raise the blinds that conceal Your ways
Burn away the hypocrisy and folly
Have me touch your heart again.
Return me to my first love for You Jesus
For You and my neighbor
Make me more like You Lord
And live for Your glory today.
